Islamorada: The Sport-Fishing Capital of the World
The Islamorada Village of Islands encompasses several of the Keys that
make up the Florida Keys, including Plantation, Windley, Upper Matecumbe
and Lower Matecumbe. The Florida Keys is an archipelago, known worldwide
for temperate climate, beautiful beaches and excellent fishing.
Islamorada, specifically, is referred to as the sport fishing capital
of the world. Home to some of the most sought-after game fish, sport-fishers
can fish for sailfish, tuna, tarpon, bonefish and more. The Village of
Islands is a great family vacation destination with its spectacular views,
warm climate, and every water sport under the sun - diving, snorkeling,
kayaking, parasailing, wind surfing and boat racing.
Although the number of permanent residents is small - just 6,722 - Islamorada
has an estimated 20,000 annual visitors that seek the recreational and
sport fishing opportunities that can best be found at Watermark Marinas!
