Plumbing Troubles: 3 Movies You May Be Able To Relate To

Movies are an excellent way to break away from the stresses of daily life. In these movies, you may see numerous problems that arise from or in the bathroom. In some cases, the actors attempt to remedy a plumbing problem themselves and only cause the problem to get bigger. Here are three movies that contain plumbing and bathroom scenes that you can possibly relate to on some level:

1. Along Came Polly

This comedy came out in 2004 and has a very memorable bathroom scene. Ben Stiller, who plays Reuben Feffer, was in Polly's bathroom and was found to be without an adequate amount of toilet paper. He decides to substitute toilet paper for a hand towel. He then attempts to flush it down the toilet, which leads to a very severe clog that causes the whole bathroom to flood. If you run into a similar problem, whether it be a hand towel or a kid's toy, you are going to need to call an expert to ensure your toilet is repaired properly. If you wanted to try to repair it yourself, you may be able to use a plunger or a plumber's snake to undo the clog. However, DIY repairs for severe clogs may not work.

2. The Goonies

This 1985 comedy features a group of teenage misfits who think they have what it takes to find an ancient pirate treasure. Mouth, who is the son of a professional plumber, believes he has the knowledge he needs to get himself and the gang through their adventure. At one point, they all start pounding on pipes that they believe are secure, when in reality, they are actually plumbing pipes. This wreaks all kinds of havoc, including sending one guy on the toilet into the ceiling from the pressure of the water. The moral of this movie scene is to not bang on pipes or even attempt to fix a plumbing issue unless you are certain that you know exactly what you are doing.

3. Dumb and Dumber

This classic comedy from the 1990s with Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels finds Daniels in the bathroom after indulging in a cup of tea that had been previously laced with laxatives. Unfortunately, after he has found relief in Mary's bathroom, he finds out that the toilet is broken and cannot flush. If her parents had simply taken care of the broken toilet when the issue occurred, this dilemma would have never happened. This is just proof that plumbing maintenance and repairs made as soon as possible are extremely important.

Plumbing issues and fails may give you a laugh when it's on-screen, but if it happens at your home, it isn't so funny. If you find yourself with a plumbing problem, your best bet is to call a professional from a business like RK Knight Plumbing so the issue can be remedied with little to no fuss.
